Virologist Dr Kumitaa Theva Das says the next Covid-19-level pandemic could happen within our lifetimes — way sooner than scientists in the past would have expected.

Major pandemics used to happen once every 100-300 years, but Dr Kumitaa believes the next one could be less than 60 years away.
